Is TERA Reforged free to play?
Yes. TERA Reforged is a free private server. There is no purchase or subscription required to play.
Is TERA Reforged pay-to-win?
No. Reforged does not sell power in any form. Pay-to-win means being able to buy a direct advantage, whether through a shop that sells power-boosting items or through real-money trading (RMT) sanctioned by the server. None of that exists here: progress comes from playing, not paying.
What version of TERA is this?
We rebuilt the classic TERA experience on the v92.04 client from 2020, one of the game's later clients. That lets us keep everything TERA gained over the years, like the full 13-class roster and the reworked skills, while we restore the classic content from the older versions. In short: a modern base, but classic-line progression and content.
Which classes are available?
All 13 TERA classes, including the later ones like Reaper, Gunner, Brawler, Ninja, and Valkyrie. Because we run a later client, we also have the race options added over time, such as Elin Valkyrie, Popori Brawler, and Elin Gunner. A few classes stay race-locked, like Reaper and Ninja, which are Elin-only.
Have the class skills been reworked?
Yes. Since we use a later client, classes come with the modernized skill kits and the reworked glyph system as they evolved over the years, not the original launch versions. What we leave out is the Apex power layer: you play the reworked classes, but without the extra endgame power that Apex added.
How is Reforged different from other TERA servers?
No Apex power layer, more predictable gearing with less RNG, a faster classic content cadence, and seasonal progression.
When did the official TERA shut down?
Only the PC version shut down, on June 30, 2022. The official console version (PlayStation and Xbox) is still running. Private servers like TERA Reforged are how the classic PC experience stays playable.
What are seasons, and do I lose my character?
Reforged runs on content seasons that periodically reset progression and the economy. You keep your character, name, cosmetics, titles, achievements, and prestige rewards across them.
Where will the servers be hosted?
Servers are planned for North America (NA) and South America (SA).
How do I install and start playing?
Everything happens through our web app at app.terareforged.com. Its onboarding guides you through the whole process, from creating your account to downloading the game.
Is it safe and legal to play on a private server?
TERA Reforged is a community-run, non-commercial fan project and is not affiliated with Krafton or Bluehole.
Is TERA Reforged run by Gameforge or the official TERA team?
No. TERA Reforged is an independent, community-run project and is not affiliated with Gameforge (the publisher that ran the official TERA PC game until it closed in 2022), Krafton, or Bluehole. The official TERA PC servers shut down in 2022, and private servers are how the classic PC game stays playable.
How can I join the launch or test the game?
